New: Jordan Flops Again as Defectors Grow

Jim Jordan has lost 22 Republicans — more than the 20 he lost yesterday. He lost three more Rs and picked up one. He could only afford to lose four Republicans

Per my count, Jordan has gained LaMalfa (as telegraphed). Bilirakis also recorded a vote for Jordan, after being absent yesterday.

But he's lost Buchanan, Ferguson, Miller-Meeks and Stauber.

He's going to be below 200 votes.

[The final count appears to be 199, less than yesterday’s 200. Reportedly, the House GOP will retire into a conference meeting to figure out their next steps. Jordan appears to be toast, and one has to wonder why he thought these two floor votes were a good idea. I’d bet that empowering Patrick McHenry for a couple of months will be the next step, likely with a deal to change the MTV rules. — Ed]
