A neutron and Special Counsel Robert Hur walk into a bar and order two drinks.
When Hur asks how much they owe, the bartender responds, “come on, for you guys, you know there’s never a charge.”
Unfortunately, for the prosecutor tasked with investigating President Joe Biden, it may not prove a laughing matter.
In many ways, Hur is the neutron prosecutor.
[One thing is clear: Hur has wrapped up the investigation. Unless Biden’s testimony points the special counsel in a fresh direction, the interview of the target is usually the last event before a charge/no-charge decision. In fact, that may not be much of a question, since the special counsel has to abide by DoJ policy, which says that a sitting president cannot be indicted. Of more interest will be Hur’s report, which probably will come right out of the Pointer Sisters’ song — some things never change, and it’s hard to find any strength to draw the line. — Ed]
