Texas’ Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said Wednesday that impeaching Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas would help unify House GOP members.

“I think that would unify Republicans in the House, to impeach Mayorkas, but I think it would also highlight the incredible human suffering that the Biden administration’s open borders are causing,” Cruz said during the “Julie Mason Show” on SiriusXM Wednesday. “I think that would be, that they should have done that already.”

With House GOP members appearing to be in disarray following the ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy Tuesday, Cruz said that going back to work and impeaching Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland would restore focus and concentrate on important issues.
