Embattled Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey is expected to defiantly announce Monday that he will seek re-election — less than a week after being indicted on explosive corruption charges. …
Menendez is expected to announce his plans to run for office again in 2024 — even if he needs to run outside the Democratic Party, according to the New Jersey Globe.
[Yeah, well, it may come to that — and Menendez won’t be able to pull it off. Lisa Murkowski did in Alaska and Kyrsten Sinema might in Arizona, but Democrats pretty much own New Jersey, and neither Murkowski or Sinema had this stench of corruption following them around. Menendez is bluffing and hoping that Democrats will get back behind him to avoid a party split, but Menendez is likely all alone these days. — Ed]
