What they want to do is they want to be a star. They want to be a reality-show star. So what I’d really love to do is to take her and a half dozen other members of Congress and just have them step down, shuffle them out or something, and we can create a reality show. . . . Let’s just let them be reality-show stars, because that’s what they really want in life. . . . They want to be stars. You know what, go off and do that and leave the government to people who actually care about these things.”

[You can add John Fetterman and Susanna Gibson to those ranks, but also others who seem to work harder in front of the media than they do in finding ways to address issues in Congress. The best elected officials have names unfamiliar to anyone except their constituents. — Ed]
