New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez announced Tuesday that he will not defend Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, a fellow Democrat, in multiple filed lawsuits opposing her gun ban.
“I do not believe that the Emergency Order will have any meaningful impact on public safety,” Torrez’s letter reads. “I do not believe it passes constitutional muster.
[Emperor Michelle I is running out of allies in New Mexico. Without the AG (a fellow Democrat), Lujan Grisham will have to hire outside counsel to represent her in these lawsuits or face embarrassing defaults and potential sanctions. Even apart from that, though, she’s running out of political cover and getting humiliated on national TV. The state legislature should put her out of her misery by impeaching and removing her forthwith, especially with Torrez’ conclusions in hand. — Ed]
