Congress doc: McConnell has no evident seizure disorder or evidence of stroke

“There is no evidence that you have a seizure disorder or that you experienced a stroke, [transient ischemic attack] or movement disorder, such as Parkinson’s disease,” wrote U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Brian Monahan, the attending physician of the U.S. Congress, in a note addressed to McConnell. The note also indicated that Monahan had examined McConnell’s health extensively after the fall, including “brain [magnetic resonance] imaging, [electroencephalogram] study and consultations with several neurologists for a comprehensive neurology assessment.”

[Well, okay, that’s good news … but clearly *something* is going on. We have seen not one but two public episodes where McConnell went into some sort of fugue state at the podium. Could that just be dehydration? Maybe, but this doesn’t offer any direct support for that claim, either. — Ed]
