Unexpectedly: Un-American US women's soccer teams blows World Cup, beaten by Sweden

They largely dominated 120 messy, physical, tense minutes. They tested Swedish goalkeeper Zecira Musovic again and again. They played well enough to win in regulation, or at least in extra time, but couldn’t find a breakthrough.

And then, in the shootout, they slid to their worst World Cup finish ever.

[What a pity – just kidding. I’m delighted. Rapinoe is poison and I hope a great big “L” hits her in the asterisk on her way out the door. May next time they’ll find some great soccer players who love this country more than social justice warrioring to represent it. Or who at least are mature enough to realize respectful stand for the National Anthem by everyone goes a long way. ~ Beege]
