Dr. William B. Allen, a longtime academic, former chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and a member of Florida’s African American History Standards Work group called claims recent made by Kamala Harris in highly-publicized remarks last week ‘categorically false.’ He also said
“I think every intellect can understand the language written there if people will only take the time to read it. And it’s only those who don’t take the time to read it who will misstate it.”
The first wave of claims asserting that Florida’s curriculum glorified slavery originated from State Rep. Anna Eskamani. If you’re unfamiliar with her, she is the same state rep who lied about the parental right’s bill and gave it the “don’t say gay” misnomer, even though that bill never mentioned the word gay or homosexual, and never prevented it from being said. Eskamani, who represents the state’s most democratic-slanted house district by proportion, is known for her support of left-wing efforts including her push to give drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. She also defended a Christmas play for children that showed simulated sex acts. She happily touts herself as Florida’s most extreme left Democrat, and the mainstream media takes her word and runs with it.
