Biden: “There’s going to come a moment when they’re going to be able to break. And by the way, remember when I said we could still do bipartisan things, they said they couldn’t do it. We didn’t get a lot, but we got a lot of bipartisan things done.”
WALLACE: “And now they’re running on your bipartisan accomplishments.”
Biden: “Like I said, I’m going to be down there congratulating them. I said I’ll be a president for every American, whether they voted for me or not.”
WALLACE: “Well, and the ones that didn’t vote for your bills but run on them.”
Biden: “That’s right.”
WALLACE: “Mr. President, thank you.”
Biden: “Thank you, Nicolle, I appreciate it. Thank you.”
WALLACE: “Great to have you.”
Biden: “Thank you.”
WALLACE: “Thank you. Don’t go anywhere. It’s a very exciting day around here. We’ll have reaction and analysis to everything we just heard from the president. We’ll be back after a short break.”
[I’m not sure which is worse — Biden walking off the set while the cameras were running or the apple-polishing “interview” Wallace was conducting. Truth to power, or something. Anyway, we might have to cut Biden some slack on this. It’s not like he’s been in politics for 50 years and has done live on-air interviews befo — oh, wait … — Ed]
