We are seeing our tower crumble in real time. We are seeing a scattering, a fragmenting, happening in real time. We are watching God confuse our language in real time.

Our arrogance, stubbornness, and selfishness as humans couldn’t hold together any great thing for that long. We don’t need God to ride in from the heavens on a white steed and physically smite the internet. We’re doing most of His work for Him. We have become so dangerous to each other that we can no longer tolerate being in the same spaces. Our language, once unified by technology, is once again confused. We don’t speak the same languages anymore, we don’t even agree on the terminology. We no longer have a common base of understanding.

We are fragmenting back into our tribes.

It feels like a letdown after the once exciting promise of the internet era.
