Former Vice President Mike Pence will not be charged in the discovery of classified documents at his Indiana home, according to a letter obtained by NBC News.
On Thursday, the DOJ’s national security division formally informed Pence’s attorney that it had closed its investigation and that based on the “results” of that probe, no charges will be filed against the former vice president. The department declined to comment, but a DOJ official confirmed that the department had sent the letter.
[How can the DoJ charge *anyone* for such crimes when it refused to prosecute Hillary Clinton — and may not even be bothering to investigate Joe Biden? For that reason, I’d suspect that special counsel Jack Smith will take a pass on these matters in relation to Donald Trump and instead focus on potential indictments relating to the January 6 riot instead. Not that there will be appreciably better foundation there. — Ed]
