"I'm not the exception, I'm actually the rule"

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
GOWDY: That you are judged in ways other candidates are not. Can a guy that is seen as being nice and affable fight back in a presidential primary against what you just heard and the Democrats?

SCOTT: The answer is yes. Meekness is not weakness. I believe in the gospel. If you break into my house, I believe in the Second Amendment and will make sure we defend everything in this country. We have to disprove their lives by our actions. The host wants to be judged by the content of her character and not the color of her skin. America is a story of evolution and to many of our schools indoctrinating our kids instead of educating. I am not the exception. I am the rule. Every kid trapped in a failing school can look at big labor unions and blame them. Every parent who wants a choice, look to the Republican Party, the g.o.p. African Americans, Hispanic and Americans, they all agree on school choice. What is in the way of providing a child with a better education or future? The radical left.

GOWDY: Even your campaign logo cannot go on criticized by the people on the left. You must be their worst nightmare. You put up with things that nobody else puts you up with.

SCOTT: I have faith in America. I watched my grandfather. This is a man who could not read. He was picking cotton as a kid. He believed then what some doubt now, the goodness of America. He said you can be bigger or better but she cannot be both. Too many people today doubt the goodness of America. Too many want to buy into bitterness and grievance and despair. I say not on my watch. Let’s tell the whole story of America rising.

[It’ll be worth watching what happens when Scott starts punching back full time on these attacks. I think he’s been itching to force media to cover what he’s been arguing for years. — Ed]
