The North Carolina Legislature is going to override a veto on a universal school choice bill.
So the state's tyrant Democrat Governor, Roy Cooper, is declaring a "state of emergency." UNREAL.pic.twitter.com/SlZPakBpcd

Like Florida and other states, this bill will allow for parents to send their children to private schools using taxpayer money. Their own taxpayer money, I should say. And because of this Cooper is declaring a state of emergency.
According to WRAL, the new law would “expand eligibility for vouchers from just lower-income families to families of all incomes, while requiring at least 50% of funds to go to children whose families qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. The lowest-income families would receive more than $7,000 in a year, while the wealthiest would receive more than $3,000 in a year, starting in the 2024-25 school year. For the first time, students already attending a private school would also be eligible for the vouchers.”
[What a tool, and an authoritarian tool at that. This is an abuse of power; declaring emergencies is one method for governors to claim extraordinary power and authority. The legislature should respond to this nonsense by revoking their governor’s authority to declare emergencies at all, and transfer that authority to the legislature. And maybe that’s the way it should be anyway, as long as nuts like Roy Cooper get elected. — Ed]
