Biden is every bit as coherent on the debt ceiling as you'd expect

Biden: “And there’s a lot of other — for example, the idea that we’re — in terms of taxes that they refuse to — for example, we — I was able to balance the budget and pass everything from the global warming bill — anyway, I was able to cut by $1.7 billion, in the first two years, the deficit that we were — were accumulating. And because I was able to say to that — the 55 corporations in America that made 40 — $400 billion dollars — or $40 billion — $400 billion, that they — they paid zero in tax. Zero.”

[I challenge anyone to diagram any of those sentences. The most coherent phrase Biden utters is also the most ludicrous — Biden never “balance[d] the budget,” nor has he even attempted to do so. What he means, one supposes, is that he made the Inflation Reduction Act deficit-neutral on paper, which turned out to be a lie in practice. But even assuming that, Biden immediately followed that up with a plan to spend at least $400 billion in single-year off-budget outlays to “forgive” student-loan debt. There is something seriously wrong with Biden, and it’s not just cognitive — it’s also moral. He’s a pathological liar. — Ed]
