Tim Allen has taken another swipe at Chris Evans taking over his iconic role as Buzz Lightyear in ‘confusing’ 2022 box office bomb, Lightyear.
The Home Improvement actor, 69, who has voiced Buzz in four Toy Story movies since the mid 1990s – was sensationally replaced by Evans, 41, for the standalone movie – amid speculation his support of the Republican party and conservative politics had swayed the decision.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Allen – who is returning as Buzz for Toy Story 5 – admitted he had no idea what the ‘peculiar’ Lightyear origin story was centered on.
Allen said: ‘They were two completely different movies. And Chris did a great job doing an ancillary part. It was very confusing to all of us on the Toy Story movie side, which was real?
‘I’m a script guy, so if Buzz is real, then Chris’s version of it was, as an actor doing it, real confusing to me.’
