The voting day witnessed high turnout as long lines of people were recorded outside polling stations in main Turkish cities.

Voters who are still waiting at polling stations after closure time will be allowed to vote. Preliminary results will become available in the late evening local time, but the outcome of the presidential elections is not expected to be clear before early Monday as the race marks one of the most contested polls in the country’s history.
