Director of the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick released footage of a suspected unidentified flying object/aerial phenomena (UFOs/UAPs) during a Senate Armed Services subcommittee hearing, Wednesday.
The video, shared online, shows a strange ball flying over a landscape in the Middle East in 2022. The object, which is currently unidentified, was said to have “characteristics and behaviors consistent with other ‘metallic orb’ observations in the region,” according to a slide on the video. It also had “no demonstration of enigmatic technical capabilities,” and was not considered a threat to assets in the region.
Kirkpatrick used the video to contextualize how a significant lack of data makes it “virtually impossible to fully identify” the object. As the AARO office gathers more data, members of the organization will be able to conduct further analysis to try and determine what it is, why it appeared, and where it came from.
