Hogwarts Legacy sold more than 12 million copies in its first two weeks, and it may not be surprising that was more than anyone, even Warner Bros, expected at launch.
According to the LinkedIn page of marketing lead from Warner Bros. Games, a point on his resume lists that Hogwarts Legacy “achieved 256% to plan sell-thru at launch and exceeded 12M units in sales in first two weeks earning $850M+.”
While estimates, internal and external, can wildly fluctuate, WB likely expected Hogwarts Legacy to be a hit, but this indicates it was 2.5x the hit they may have expected.
[So much for the boycotts, the attacks on Rowling as a TERF, and the cooperation of the mainstream media with the radical-transgender attempts to cancel both Rowling and the Harry Potter industry. Perhaps at some point, people will marvel at all the attention paid to the radical minority of a demographic that amounts at best to 0.6% of the population. — Ed]
