Auston police took so long to respond to a crash, the DUI suspect sobered up

A family visiting Austin from the Killeen area waited nearly two-and-a-half hours for the Austin Police Department (APD) to respond to a serious head-on crash in north Austin. It happened on Saturday on Jollyville Road. A suspected drunk driver hit a family of four with two young children inside.

“My kids are traumatized. I’m traumatized and outraged,” said Lacey Purciful who was involved in the crash.
