Savannah Guthrie rushed off 'Today' set after a positive COVID test

Savannah Guthrie is following in the footsteps of her co-host Hoda Kotb and dropping from The Today Show. Guthrie left this morning’s live broadcast suddenly after learning she tested positive for COVID-19.

The morning show host arrived at work “not feeling great,” her co-host Sheinelle Jones explained, and once she took a COVID test, the results were unfortunately positive.

“It has been an interesting morning for us,” Jones said, before adding, “As soon as we found out [the results], she rushed home to rest up. So Savannah, we love you, wishing you a speedy recovery.”

[Apparently Hoda Kotb has been out since February 17, but no one knows why. Kotb is active on social media but remains mum about her absence. Meanwhile, we all wish Guthrie a speedy recovery, but it seems a bit like closing the barn door after the colt has bolted, no? — Ed]
