Republicans are on the warpath against embattled Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. Drumbeats are sounding for his resignation and he is being pilloried by conservatives on social media.

[I’ll believe it when I see it. No one gets held accountable in politics these days, and that’s been true for the last couple of administrations. Obama didn’t fire James Clapper even when it became obvious that he’d committed perjury in congressional testimony, for instance. Besides, to fire Buttigieg, Biden would essentially be agreeing with critics about Buttigieg’s lack of response — and Biden still hasn’t shown up himself in East Palestine.
