Harry and Meghan’s lawyers are ‘casting an eye’ over animated sitcom South Park, a royal commentator has claimed, after it launched a series of attacks against the couple.
The satirical series ridiculed the couple’s demands for privacy while on a publicity blitz for the Duke’s autobiography, Spare, and their Netflix series in a brutal episode last week.
Now it has been suggested the broadcast may have ‘legal ramifications’ with the Sussexes’ lawyers.
[It may have legal ramifications — it may separate the Sussexes from more of their money through legal fees, if indeed this is true at all. The UK makes it easier to sue for defamation and ridicule, but in the US, that is firmly protected in the Constitution and in judicial precedent. Besides, these two stuffed shirts make themselves irresistible for this kind of satire through their constant courting of the media and constant whining about the attention they receive. And that, of course, was the point of the South Park episode. — Ed]
