State Dept to Americans in Russia: Get out

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow is urging Americans to leave Russia “immediately” due to security risks amid the war in Ukraine.

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow warned of the “unpredictable consequences” of the war in Ukraine, and said dual U.S.-Russian citizens in particular risked being forcibly conscripted into Russia’s armed forces.

We are now approaching the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and almost the anniversary of their defeat in the north and exposure of incompetence. The need for Americans to get out of Russia has been clear ever since then. One has to wonder if State is getting intelligence about a collapse of the Putin regime, especially if its new offensive fails to break Ukrainian resistance in the next couple of weeks. — Ed]
