Brady told Cowherd that he would start at Fox in “fall of 2024,” thanking executives at the network for giving him time to find his footing after retiring from the NFL.
The deal gives Fox some time to figure out what to do with their main NFL broadcast booth, which consists of play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and analyst Greg Olsen, who have garnered positive reviews in their debut season.
[That’s one explanation. Another might be that Brady may still be open to a one-year contract with a competitive team that just needs another season to produce a franchise QB. The Las Vegas Raiders are in that position, potentially, as are a few others that were reportedly hoping to get Brady before he announced his retirement. Would Brady walk away from an eight-figure deal to give it one more go, especially for a team that is complete except at QB? An 18-month hiatus seems unusual, anyway. — Ed]
