Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, better known as Nathan Chasing Horse, was arrested following a SWAT raid on his home in North Las Vegas, the New York Post reported. Chasing Horse reportedly lived at the home with five wives, with one allegedly given to him as a “gift” when she was just 15 and another becoming his wife after she turned 16.
In a 50-page search warrant obtained by the Associated Press, authorities alleged that Chasing Horse is the leader of a cult called The Circle, where he used his position to allegedly abuse underage Native American girls. Authorities investigated Chasing Horse for months after receiving a tip in October 2022, though it is alleged that his crimes have been ongoing for about two decades.
Chasing Horse was known for his role as Smiles a Lot, a young Sioux tribe member, in the film “Dances With Wolves.” Following his appearance in the film, Chasing Horse was known as a medicine man among tribes in the U.S. and Canada, and would perform healing ceremonies and spiritual gatherings, the AP reported. It was in this position that Chasing Horse allegedly abused at least six victims, including at least one as young as 13.
[Innocent until proven guilty, of course. Lest anyone rope Hollywood into this — like, say, the NXIUM cult — Chasing His Horse hasn’t done any film or television work since 2007, according to IMDB. This appears to be more about his access and connections to Native American communities, who are likely feeling very betrayed at the moment. — Ed]
