As Peter Zeihan noted in yesterday’s video, Russia says they’re expanding their military manpower to 1.5 million. …
The question I have is: How is Russia going to equip and train these 500,000 new conscripts when they’ve hardly been successful providing equipment for their previous conscripts?
Have they gotten better in the last few months? Well, it would be hard to top their previous “stick a tampon in your wound” level of incompetence.
[It is said that quantity is a quality all its own, which is true — to a point. If the quantity isn’t trained or supplied, about the only purpose to which they can be put is to drain their enemies of their ammunition. And Ukraine’s not running out of that supply, thanks to its Western allies. More critically, though, the expanded mobilization will further destabilize Putin’s political position as more Russians figure out that Putin’s failed. — Ed]
