Hmmm: Manhattan DA meeting with Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen, the former personal attorney to ex-President Donald Trump, is meeting Tuesday with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, the clearest sign that prosecutors are zeroing in on the Trump Organization’s involvement in hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

As he arrived at the building Cohen said he was complying with a request to meet with prosecutors.

“Called. Asked to come in. That’s what we’re doing. I can’t really tell you anything more than that at the moment,” Cohen said about the topics he would be questioned about.

His attorney Lanny Davis said he believed prosecutors were “serious” about the investigation.

[Cohen will make a pretty bad witness in a trial. Among the charges for which Cohen got convicted was a count of lying to Congress in testimony before one of its committees, a point that CNN neglects to mention. Maybe a trial is not what Alvin Bragg has in mind, though. — Ed]
