SCOTUS legal counsel: Alito did not leak Hobby Lobby decision

The legal counsel for the Supreme Court has confirmed that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito did not leak the Hobby Lobby decision to pro-life advocates before it was released to the public. A former pro-life advocate who became a left-wing abortion activist, Rob Schenck, made the claim earlier this month.

But the high court’s legal counsel, Ethan Torrey, wrote in a letter to Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga that the claim is false.

“There is nothing to suggest Justice Alito’s actions violated ethics standards,” he said — calling the allegations totally “uncorroborated.”

Alito also refuted the claims at the time, saying they were unfounded.
