Gov. Kathy Hochul downplayed challenger Lee Zeldin’s plan to suspend bail reform as too “simplistic” during a Friday morning TV interview — during which she also haughtily declared: “I’m the governor, he’s not.”

Hochul, who’s locked in an unexpectedly tight race just four days before Tuesday’s election, was asked by “CNN This Morning” co-host Don Lemon about combating crime, which polls show is a key issue for voters, but one that Hochul has largely focused on tightening gun laws.
“One thing Zeldin said he would do is repeal the bail reform law. What would you do?” Lemon asked.
“That is such a simplistic approach,” the Democratic incumbent responded.
