Musk revealed in a tweet on Tuesday that he had talked to several “civil society leaders” about “how Twitter will continue to combat hate & harassment & enforce its election integrity policies.”

Among those “leaders” was Rashad Robinson, the president of Color of Change, which bills itself as “the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.”
Robinson was among the more vocal supporters of Smollett when in early 2019 the actor staged a fake hate crime against himself for which he was ultimately convicted in court.
“What happened to Jussie Smollett hits home for us all. And we will not be silenced,” Robinson tweeted in January of that year.
