The top prosecutor for the European Union says it is conducting an investigation into COVID-19 vaccines in Europe, an undertaking for which the office is currently refusing to provide details.

The European Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday confirmed that “it has an ongoing investigation into the acquisition of COVID-19 vaccines in the European Union,” the EPPO said on its website.
“This exceptional confirmation comes after the extremely high public interest,” the announcement said.
“No further details will be made public at this stage,” it added.
