NEW: After long caucus, multiple Democrats say they will accept the short-term increase laid out by McConnell but that they will not use reconciliation for a longer-term solution for the debt ceiling.

Senate Dems accepted the deal because “Mitch McConnell finally saw the light” on offering a solution that could pass quickly, said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The bill must pass as “soon as possible, the clock is ticking. It would have been a disaster if this did not happen”

“There’s not going to be reconciliation,” Bernie adds.

“Mitch McConnell did not get what he wanted,” said Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). “Now we’re focused on getting what the American people want”
