A black student scrawled racist graffiti that led a thousand Missouri students to walk out of their classrooms in protest.
On Tuesday, the student admitted to writing ‘HOPE ALL BLACK PEOPLE DIE’ and ‘N*****’ on September 23 in several bathrooms in two district schools – Parkway Central and Parkway North.
It led to a mass student protest the next day on September 24…
Brittanee Jackson, a 17-year-old senior who participated in the rally, told the publication that it was ’embarrassing’ to hear that the slurs had been written by a black student – however, she said, it didn’t take away from the students’ anti-racism message.
She said that the administration should work to establish a clearer policy to prevent racism from being shared in the first place: ‘If we’re going to a school that is very diverse, that’s probably one of the first things that should be done.’
