Indeed, they expect those new citizens to be loyal Democratic voters.
After all, the surge began when Biden made good on his campaign promises and eased many of the Trump-era restrictions — a message that the masses clearly heard as “Come on in.”
They are mostly single adults (though more unaccompanied children than ever are also part of the wave). And most come from the “northern triangle” nations of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. But it’s Ecuador too, now surpassing Mexico as the No. 1 source of illegal crossers. Apprehensions from all nations in Central and South America are way up — heck, they include nearly 25,000 Brazilians.
Most are not fleeing violence. Rather, reports Dave Seminara, they are “seeking higher-paying jobs and more generous welfare benefits and . . . think we’ll let them stay now that Sheriff Joe Biden is in charge.”
