Official: Majority of Afghan interpreters, visa holders were left behind

The U.S. left behind the majority of Afghan allies who had applied for visas to escape reprisal from the Taliban, a senior State Department official said on Tuesday, despite fraught efforts to evacuate those at risk in the final two weeks of the mission.
