Blake Bargatze, 24, was the only one in his family to not get vaccinated and now he remains in a hospital ICU more than three months after contracting COVID-19, according to his family. “I just don’t ever want anybody else to go through this,” his mother Cheryl Nuclo told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson. Bargatze was infected with the virus in April while in Florida, his family says, and has needed a double lung transplant and months of intensive care at hospitals in three states. The Gwinnett County native vaped regularly, but his mother says he has no underlying conditions. “No diabetes, no hypertension,” she said. “Just a 24-year-old kid.”
