Mob beat Utah man to death behind store over accusation of domestic violence, police say

According to police reports, the group of people, whose relationship is not specified, were at the home of a dog breeder in Magna Monday afternoon when they were told Ortiz had beaten his pregnant girlfriend, leaving her with a black eye.

As the group was at the dog breeder’s home, they apparently saw Ortiz ride by the house on a scooter and gave chase, the police report states.

The chase ended in the parking lot of the Smith’s grocery store at 8055 West 3500 South when witnesses said they saw one of the suspects, Osyeanna Martinez, 19, strike Ortiz with her Volkswagen Bug.
