Dan Crenshaw "confident" of recovery after eye surgery

He had surgery on his left eye after doctors found his retina was becoming detached. “I can lift my head up again and no longer have to position myself face-down, which is a relief,” Crenshaw, 37, tweeted. “This is obviously good news, but it doesn’t mean we are out of the woods yet,” he added. Both eye injuries are related to the 2012 IED blast that left him with “half a good eye.” A follow-appointment last week revealed his retina was still in place, he said. “I still cannot see much other than lights and shadows, basically, as I am still in the early stages of my recovery,” he said Friday.
