The baffling Georgia boycott effort

The instruction is a bit confusing since Georgia law does not even accept write-in candidates for a runoff election. A protest vote in this case might make someone feel better, but it won’t be counted and we’ll have no idea how many people actually opted to ‘boycott’ the election.

There is a reason Newsmax’s Joe Pinion dubbed the Georgia boycott his ‘whiff of the week’ on his show Saturday. As I said on air, handing the Senate to the Democrats is throwing the baby out with the bath water. It is true that some Senate Republicans and the Georgia GOP did not have the President’s back. If the stakes were not so high, it would be perfectly reasonable to want to hold those people accountable. However, conservatives cannot afford to allow Joe Biden to implement his agenda without any restrictions whatsoever and it is not right to punish Perdue and Loeffler — who voted 94.9 percent and 100 percent in line with Trump, respectively, according to FiveThirtyEight — for organizational failure.

Biden has already said he wants to send an amnesty deal for 11-22 million illegal immigrants to the Senate within the first 100 days of his presidency. This alone should make the idea of losing the Senate unacceptable to conservatives. The concept of law and order would be decimated, the already struggling American economy would buckle under this influx of new citizens, and Republicans would be hard pressed to ever win another election.
