Trump insists he's polling ahead of Democratic "Motley Crew"

President Donald Trump insisted Monday that he is polling ahead of what he called the “Motley Crew” of 2020 Democratic White House hopefuls, despite leaked internal polling by his own re-election campaign showing him lagging behind former Vice President Joe Biden in several battleground states.

“Only Fake Polls show us behind the Motley Crew,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “We are looking really good, but it is far too early to be focused on that. Much work to do! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s post comes one day after reports that he was cutting ties with a trio of pollsters following the dissemination of the damaging 17-state survey.
