Democrat defeated by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a dirt file on her

The lawmaker who Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeated in their June 2016 primary was so confident he would win he didn’t use a trove of ammunition he had against her.

Former Rep. Joe Crowley had ‘plenty of fodder’ to use in the race but didn’t, Politico reporters Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer write in their new book, ‘The Hill to Die On.’

Crowley, who was on track to succeed Nancy Pelosi as leader of the House Democrats, didn’t want to look weak in a contest he was highly favored to win.
