Trump officials won't receive raises during shutdown

The scheduled increases were the result of lawmakers’ failure to pass a slate of government funding bills by Dec. 21, triggering a lapse in an existing, annually renewed pay freeze that is set to expire Saturday.

In a Friday memorandum from the Office of Personnel Management, Acting Director Margaret Weichert wrote that “it would be prudent for agencies to continue to pay these senior political officials at the frozen rate until appropriations legislation is enacted that would clarify the status of the freeze.”
