The area woman was walking her two dogs when the alligator reportedly struck in Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. The 911 caller said he saw her walking the pups — one suffered an apparent bite wound — but then spotted them alone. Divers are still on the scene searching for the owner.

“Her dogs won’t leave the pond,” Davie Police Maj. Dale Engle told the Sentinel. “One of her dogs got bit by the gator.”
