Facebook to turn over Russian 2016 election ads to Congress

The company confirmed Thursday afternoon that it would release details associated with advertisements.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted that he would be speaking at 3:30 p.m. EST on Thursday “to discuss our next steps protecting election integrity.”

Facebook has been criticized by lawmakers, such as the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee Mark Warner (Va.), for not revealing enough information about the extent of Russian activity to potentially influence the election via its platform.
