President Trump reportedly mulled donating money to defeat Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.).

Two sources familiar with the conversation last fall told Politico that Trump considered the idea of spending $10 million out of his own pocket to defeat Flake.

Flake had been a vocal critic of Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
