​The August 2016 Franklin & Marshall College Poll of Pennsylvania shows that Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump 47% to 40% among likely voters, down from the 49% to 38% lead she held immediately after the Democratic convention. More voters continue to believe Secretary Clinton rather than Mr. Trump has the experience to be president and is better prepared to handle foreign policy issues, although they are evenly divided on which candidate has the ability to fix the country’s economic problems and which candidate will best protect the US from terrorism. Secretary Clinton’s favorable ratings have declined since the July survey, falling from 47% to 38% favorable. In the US Senate race, Democrat Katie McGinty has a five-point lead over Republican Senator Pat Toomey 43% to 38% among likely voters, up from a one-point advantage in late July, although one in five (18%) voters is still undecided. Only one in three (33%) registered voters believes Senator Toomey has done a good enough job to deserve reelection.
