The assessment prompted a startled response from Chuck Todd, the host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” who questioned Plouffe’s qualifications to make a psychiatric diagnosis of a major party candidate on television.
Plouffe defended his opinion by pointing to what he said are the hallmark symptoms of psychosis.

“Well, listen, grandiose notion of self worth, pathological lying, lack of empathy and remorse,” he said
He acknowledged, however, lacking authoritative medical credentials when Todd asked him whether he was qualified to make an off-the-cuff diagnosis.
“Right, I don’t have a degree in psychology,” he conceded.
