Marco Rubio took a pretty clear shot at Donald Trump during a campaign stop earlier today in talking about nominating someone who most of the party hates.

“If we nominate someone,” Rubio said, “that half of the Republican party hates, we’re gonna be fighting against each other all the way to November.”

He said that even if people find a certain candidate “funny” or entertaining, “if we nominate someone that 40 to 50 percent of our party can’t stand, we are going to lose.”

Rubio hasn’t been going after Trump that much recently, but his boost in South Carolina and in endorsements heading into the rest of the primary race may get him to bring the fight to Trump more.
