DHS secretary "didn't sleep well at night" after being asked about Trump's Muslim comments

In an interview with Politico out today, Johnson admitted that after that meeting (and all the questions he got about Trump), he said, “I took that home with me and didn’t sleep well all night. The next morning — at my usual 5 a.m .— I woke up with it on my mind that I had to say something.”

And, in fact, he did. Johnson appeared on MSNBC the next day to unequivocally state that “it is irresponsible to do this and contrary to our national security efforts.”

He told Politico that Trump’s proposal is “beyond the pale” and would “burn bridges to American Muslims when we’re trying to go in the exact opposite direction.”
